25th Annual Check Out Hunger and Holiday Food Drive

Check Out Hunger (in-store fundraising) & Holiday Food Drive (in-store food donation)
Each holiday season, participating area grocery stores feature Check Out Hunger pads in $1, $5 and $10 denominations at checkout stands. Shoppers who want to help hungry neighbors can tear off a coupon and hand it to the cashier. In turn, the cashier swipes the coupon’s barcode and adds the corresponding amount to the shopper’s grocery bill.
For every $1 donated at the checkout, we can provide approximately 3 meals. This is a win-win-win promotion: the shopper can easily make a donation to help families in need (win!); participating retailers make sales (win!), and the Food Bank is able to gather some of its most-needed items for distribution to clients through partner agencies and mobile food distributions (win!).
Combined, Check Out Hunger and Holiday Food Drive resulted in approximately 208,872 meals during the 2018 holiday season. Thank you! These are meals for hungry children, adults, older Americans, Veterans and people with disabilities who live in our service area.
