Give to Lincoln is Here
Every donation makes a bigger impact on Give to Lincoln Day because nonprofits get a proportional share of a $500,000 match fund made possible by Lincoln Community Foundation and generous sponsors. In other words, your gift will help even more families facing hunger right here in our community. Donations made between May 1 and May 25 are eligible for matching funds.
We Need Your Help
For nine years, your support through Give to Lincoln Day has provided more than 3.8 million meals for neighbors like Michelle and Mary Jo.
I work two jobs and even with cutting my expenses, it is not enough to make ends meet, especially when raising kids. Without this valuable resource, I am not sure what my family would do.
Thank you so much. If it hadn’t been for you [donors], we wouldn’t be here—we literally would have not made it. I’m so grateful it’s [the Food Bank] there.
But with nearly 60,000 neighbors in Southeast Nebraska still facing food insecurity, including nearly 39,000 in Lancaster County alone, our work isn’t done.
Your gift through Give to Lincoln will go a long way toward providing hope, relief and a little boost for Nebraskans in need. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank of Lincoln can provide approximately three meals.
We are Raising Our Response to Hunger
Even before the pandemic disproportionately impacted our kids, families and folks who are struggling, Southeast Nebraska’s needs had outgrown our present facility. The pandemic magnified this reality.
We’ve grown from connecting nearly one million meals in 1997 to connecting neighbors to 11.5 million meals in our 16-county service area last fiscal year.
We are Raising Our Response to Hunger with a capital campaign dedicated to hunger solutions. The new facility will enable us connect more people to meals, increase access to healthy food and shorten food lines through education and community stability.
If you would like your Give to Lincoln Day donation to support the capital campaign, please include “facility campaign” in the comments.
We are grateful.
